The Jerome Experience

2002 - 30 minute drum solo performance at 3500 ft.

1400 hours on Friday 19th of April 2002 at Bournemouth International Airport, with South Coast Airways, The Jerome Experience established a World Record by becoming the first and only “single artist” drummer to play drums for 30 minutes on board a “Dakota DC3 Aircraft” at 3500 feet. This was a first in international aviation history. This event was very well covered by BBC Radio Solent (Southampton), journalist Alan Jones, Steve Kinder writer and photographer who writes for both sides of the Atlantic on several newspaper and magazines, Sarah A. Tumbelty photographer and Jill Barnes freelance photographer. The Jerome Experience was interviewed and pictured several times before during and after the event and also appeared live on BBC Radio Solent breakfast show – morning news, on Thursday the 18th of April and Monday the 22nd of April. The event was also featured on BBC Radio Nottingham Monday the 22nd of April '02. Click images for larger view.

2003 First Loudest Drummer in the World

On Saturday 12th of April 2003 at 12:30pm in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire, Woodgreen Animal Shelter The Jerome Experience established a World Record, approved by The Guinness World Records, by becoming the first loudest drummer in the world with the highest peak recorded at 109.1 decibels.  A peak level sound meter was used to record Jerome’s attempt which peaked at a volume equivalent to a propeller plane taking off and louder than pneumatic drill from 3m (10ft) away.  The world record attempt took place at The 10th Birthday Bash organised by The Celtic Warriors.  The Jerome Experience was interviewed and filmed by television company working for Sky Television on a special documentary for Men and Motors, which was broadcast on the 18th July 2003.
